TDOT Green Island Biofuel Corridor Grants Available
The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) is seeking proposals from retail refueling stations for grant funding to convert or install fuel storage tanks and dispensing equipment for B20 biodiesel and E85 fuel ethanol.
The goal of the Green Island Biofuel Corridor Grant Program is to establish a statewide network of publicly accessible B20 and E85 refueling stations, particularly along interstates and major highways.
This competitive grant funding solicitation focuses on completing the development of Green Island Biofuel Corridors across the state. TDOT also wants to identify partner retail stations in areas where reasonably accessible and convenient retail biofuel stations are not in place and to help provide access to E85 and B20 for state and university fleet vehicles.
A minimum 20 percent cost share is required, and the maximum grant award is $45,000 per E85 or B20 fuel system ($90,000 for both fuels). The application deadline is April 30, 2010. Additional details and instructions are contained in the Green Island Biofuel grant application package, which is available on TDOT’s website at www.tn.gov/tdot/biofuel/application
